Linen: The Natural Summer Go-To
Happy June! It is getting warm and we're all beginning to think about how we can stay comfortable, covered and yes… oh-so-chic!
I was having a conversation with a Club member about fabric options for working out (haven’t you wondered why polyester just loves to grab ahold of aromas and not let go?! (Sorry not sorry… had to be said!)
Synthetic fabrics can be tough in the Summer.
Cotton and linen, natural fabrics, are a fantastic option. And particularly this week, I’d like to focus on… Linen! (You may recall last summer my post on Cotton!)
Linen is not only perfect for the heat, but it’s as chic as ever. It makes you feel like you want to be dining on terraces and driving the hills along the South of France.
I recently wore this linen blend shirt to the pool last weekend and I was cool as a cucumber, even though my arms were covered (which is nice to give your skin a break from a long pool weekend). It was perfect to pop over my swimsuit (my one piece and Coolotte shorts, that is!). I even cooked a Sunday roast with it on, spilled ALL over it, and every stain came out easily.
And not only that, but I was just generously bequeathed a gorgeous white, light linen maxi, that is the ultimate Summer necessity.
So let’s break it down to Five Reasons Why linen is just an EXCEPTIONAL choice for the summer.
Linen is a moisture wicking fabric. If you want to avoid feeling like a swamp, say hello to your new best friend.
You get the benefit of the polyester sport fabrics without the lingering smell! (Again, I apologize for having to talk about smell, but are we not all thinking of it?) Next time you wear polyester, grab a whiff before that poly goes into the wash…

You can keep it simple! Linen is so elegant in white! This means, it’s super easy to match and there’s almost no thought to making up an outfit with it (and great for packing too!).
Finally, the big one- these new linen blends do NOT wrinkle as easily. I say this to every person I recommend linen as a summer style choice to, because this is a solid rebuttal. Fashion brands know women don’t like ironing! So the new linen blends out there are fabulous and stress-free.
