Summer’s Luscious Color Trend: Lavender

It’s Summer in just a few short days - yikes!! How did it get here so fast?!

One thing I find interesting about every new season is seeing which colors are trending.

And this summer, it’s one of my favorites: Lavender!

Everything about lavender feels so… ethereal. It’s gorgeous to look at and some of my favorite images are of the lavender fields in Provence. Have you seen photos of the monastery at Senanque? It was found in 1148!!! When I was there it was Winter, so no lavender but still had it’s own unique seasonal beauty!

Lavender is everywhere and I never tire of looking at it, not to mention how delicious it is to smell! When Brice and I are back in Provence, my heart still jumps when I see a field - it never gets old, it’s beautiful!

When you spot a field while driving in the car - you must pull over!

And in the evening? It is sooooo soothing to use lavender’s essential oils on your face and skin before bedtime. It’s major spa vibes!

And as for the color lavender itself, it’s both calm and feminine, with a little royal feel to it. Lavender is definitely a fun color to add to your wardrobe ‘palette’ and pop it up a bit.

Here are a few tips on how to wear lavender (so it doesn’t wear you):

If it feels too ‘out there,’ for your comfort zone, try using it in small amounts. Maybe as piping on a flat shoe or in a small stud earring.
If you’re having a hard time matching your lavender, go monochromatic. Yes! Going monochromatic is ultra chic and will give your Look an elegant feel.
Combine it with cool color tones, like blue or green, to avoid any harsh contrast. This will give your lavender statement a very light feel that feels organic and not forced.
