9 Questions For Spectacular Wardrobe Purchases

As we head into some cooler weather… (Eurekaaaaa!) we are likely thinking about some fun, cozy Fallwear that most of us enjoy so much.

But before we get too excited and start shopping away, we of course want to make smart purchases that we will not regret. Doesn’t it just stink walking into the closet, haunted by the garment ghouls of unworn items?

And sometimes, we forget about the real winners in our closet - hey, it happens! They might get smooshed into a certain section or next to something we have a tendency to just scan over all the time.

Last Fall I purchased a casual dress. I didn’t think it’d be anything special, just something I could run errands in, golf, work at home, volunteer, etc. You could almost say it was meant to be a workhorse - not super fashiony (but still cute) just something that was practical and I could layer/de-layer and wear with shoes that I could really move in.

Turned out… this dress SURPASSED all hopes I had for it. It could nearly be my second skin! (And you bet that when it came out in new colors I snagged another one up!)

Not only are pieces like this exciting to have, but they are also PERFECT to learn from.

The best way to make good purchases is disect from what we love. By putting it under a microscope for a few minutes - you will save time, money and feelings of regret.

So what does it look like to put your favorite/most worn garment under a microscope? Well, here below are 9 questions to run through.  If you get stuck on one, just move ahead. The easier it is to run through these questions, the more likely you’ll be to have success. Stress and shopping do NOT mix!
