Your Cure-All for the Cold: The Camel Coat

Sometimes when you’re throwing together an outfit, you wish you had something you could just throw on that looks polished, classic, not over dressed OR underdressed, something that'll match your loafers or sneakers, something you can wear over a dress or blue jeans.

Well, what if I told you … there is!

We’re in the coldest part of the year, so now is the perfect time to start curing what ails your fashion woes with… the camel coat.

The camel coat is a wardrobe life-saver. I’ve been relying on mine and it  really comes through in nearly every situation.

The camel coat is so polished and timeless, you are sure to look chic and elegant by tossing it over the simplest of outfits.

You may have recently seen how Kate Middleton’s camel coat is making the rounds in the ‘webiverse.’ We’re even seeing a Princess choose to reuse a great wardrobe basic!

There’s a few go-to outfits I can always count on pairing with my camel coats:

  1. Over jeans, with a white tee and white sneaker (not too cold here in Texas). This is great for running around doing errands. You literally have just jeans and a tee but the camel coat adds polish without sacrificing comfort and practicality.

  2. Over an all black outfit (black jeans, black ankle booties, black blouse). This color combo is so luxe and is an easy way to soften and uplift an all black look.

  3. Over a simple fit and flare dress with tights and boots. If you go with a stand collar coat that’s a bit longer, you can button it up and wear it as its own dress, ala 1960’s inspired.

  4. Over a sequin pencil skirt, heels, and sweater for a fancy night out. Now, especially if you’re hesitant to wear anything bedazzled or a bit ‘loud’ this is a great way to tone it down and make it feel a bit more subtle and appropriate.

  5. With a windowpane trouser, loafer and blouse. This just feels so pulled together, there’s really not that much more to say!
