Ring in the Month of Mary with (What Else?!) Mary Rings!
Happy May Crowning!! What a glorious month this is, where we, as Catholics, can offer special devotions to Our Lady.
If you’ve read my book, you know I have big admiration for her and find her such an inspiration for doing things beautifully (since, as St. Augustine says, “Beauty is an attribute of God.”). You may have also read the sections that explain how, in Mary’s apparitions, her garments tell a theological story of whom she is appearing to.
In honor of Mary, May can be a fabulous time to think about starting the Consecration to Mary by St. Louis de Montfort. There are some amazing feast days you can end your Consecration on - it’s loaded!!!
My husband and I did the Consecration for our wedding (December 8) and… we’re planning to renew it on the Assumption of Mary!!
In an earlier post you may have read about the Consecration ring (a lovely ring sold by the Sisters of the Immaculate Heart of Mary). However, if this ring doesn’t feel quite “you” there are also plenty of other options. I’ve worn that ring for years and decided to switch to a blue, gold and white ring in honor of Our Lady (I think she herself would appreciate the beauty!).
And go figure… it was from, Nordstrom Rack!! This wonderful little ring that just felt like it emulated Our Lady of Lourdes, dressed in white with a blue sash and gold roses at her feet.
So… once you're done with your Consecration, consider a Consecration ring to remind you of these special graces… and as St. Louis says… “[Mary] is the safest, easiest and shortest way of approaching Jesus.”
Here are a few suggestions with ‘ringing endorsements’ to get you started!
I hope you have a successful time with your Consecration (persevere!! the prayers can get lengthy! but worth it!).
