Defining a Catholic Wardrobe

“Gosh, I have so enjoyed this and feel like you have helped me sooo much. I feel like you have helped me get my confidence back at a time I really needed it. I also feel like a gained a really cool, fashionable frien (91).png

If you’ve read my book, you know that the first step to diving into your style is to find your inspiration. Creating a Mood Board (via Pinterest, or cutting out clippings) is the easiest and most tangible way to do this and get the results you’re hoping for!

What I have learned, working one-on-one with my clients, is that a lot of women find this process a helpful way to get started. I understand. It can be difficult, especially in these stressful times, to find the kind of inspiration that will lead to a beautiful, elegant (yet practical and modest) wardrobe that reflects how your eyes are turned to God and not on attracting validation from other earthly beings.

I also hear from young mothers, who are looking for fashionable  inspiration for their daughters, to help them avoid falling into the trap of choosing the same cheap and irreverent fashions of their friends, yet without feeling self-conscious or out-of-touch.

Well, enter …. VIGIL, a magazine published by the Young Catholic Women.

I just received my first copy of this magazine and was absolutely BLOWN AWAY at how well produced and beautifully laid out it is. VIGIL features different articles like fashion inspiration from Megan Madden a look at the Dominincan Sisters, the art of floral arrangements, refreshing tips on creating a faith-filled home, a meditation to pray inspired by a 13th century French statue, and a lovely article on the shrine of La Leche.

In this most recent Spring issue, I was interviewed by Odelia Matthews, who really did an excellent job at getting to the heart of what a Catholic Stylist is all about and... asked quite an important question (that I should have explained sooner):

What IS a Catholic Wardrobe?

To which I will respond, “A Catholic wardrobe dresses to glorify God, revealing a woman’s dignity and femininity, while incorporating powerful sacramentals for streams of grace throughout her day.”

Here are some excerpts from VIGIL so you too can be inspired by its beauty!
