Styling By Your Bootstraps

“Gosh, I have so enjoyed this and feel like you have helped me sooo much. I feel like you have helped me get my confidence back at a time I really needed it. I also feel like a gained a really cool, fashionable frien (79).png

Well, Lent came early for us Texans this year! As you may know, we’ve experienced some pretty WILD weather.

With no salt on the roads, water lines breaking, and nearly 4 million without electricity - we certainly keep prayers to our friends in the South.

In honor of them, and while keeping them in our prayers, I thought we could highlight a trend that has always proved popular here - Western “cowboy” boots!

The Western look has enjoyed a big boot trend revival over the last few years and I must say - I love it! Now, you don’t have to go full-on cowgirl, but rather, play with Western inspiration for the small details (like in your boots).

As for myself, I’m always concerned I’ll be picked out as a “phony” and they will see straight through to my California soul... as I walk in my boots... to my Prius... LOL! Now, that’s a situation I prefer to avoid!!

But going “western” doesn’t mean you can’t embrace a little “cowgirl inspiration” without committing to all-out Rodeo Drive.

These are a few of the ways that I like to kick it in my western boots:

  1. Boots look fabulous with a feminine dress. It kind of relaxes the dress and makes your overall look feel more approachable.

  2.  Of course they’re perfect with jeans! Boots polish a jeans look while adding a little sass and edge.

  3. Try combining boots with softer details to balance their hardy outdoors feel. Florals, lace, silk and ruffles are all great touches to pair with the western boot.

Here are a few for you to shop!

Hope this dash of Western adds spice to your wardrobe, and sends prayers to our friends down south!

Question: How do you slide a little Western into your Look?
