“Gosh, I have so enjoyed this and feel like you have helped me sooo much. I feel like you have helped me get my confidence back at a time I really needed it. I also feel like a gained a really cool, fashionable frien (23).png

This week, we’re diving into the Strawberry Silhouette.

So what is a strawberry silhouette? A strawberry will have the opposite shape of a pear frame, meaning your bust/shoulders are wider than your hips.

If you don’t have a measuring tape, no prob! Just stand in front of the mirror, put your hands to the side, and look to see if your shoulders fall outside the parameters of your hips. If so, you’re a strawberry!

Now, as you recall from previous installations in this series (and if you’ve missed any, you can find them here), the goal of “flattering your shape” is to create balanced proportions and highlight the waistline.

If you’re not a strawberry, remember that knowing how to dress other shapes will help you “pluck” some fresh style tips for your own.

Here are 10 tips to style the strawberry shape:

1.Don’t wear  jackets with shoulder pads.

2.Go for  lighter wash denim jeans in a straight, wide or flare cut.

3. You can totally rock printed pants! This is perfect to draw the eye downwards to balance your upper half.

4. Stick with fabrics on top that are soft, feminine, and drape close to the body

5. Puff shoulders are a cute trend, but not for you!

6. Be bold with a more voluminous skirt, perhaps with embellishments, embroidery, a ruffle hem, or fun print.

7. Opt for delicate, longer necklaces. Avoid heavy, statement necklaces.

8. Limit embellishment or embroidery on the yoke of your top, it adds weight and bulk.

9. Go for a more overstated boot, wedge, or platform sneaker. Something with more “grounding” will frame your look and balance your upper half.

10. Steer clear of crew necks and shoot for V-neck or scoop neck tops.

Of course I won’t leave you with some fun items to shop! Here below are some great picks:
