Summer Cull for a Closet Less Full
A very Happy month of August to you, which means, we are almost half way through Summer!!
In just about a month-ish, we will start to taper out our whites and sun dresses for styles a bit more cozy.
Often times during our seasonal closet transitions, we get excited and simply toss everything aside (which, who could put any blame on the sheer excitement of pulling out Fall clothing?!). But it’s important to not store anything you really won’t wear. It’ll just take up space in your home and energy to launder it.
And if that’s not you, it may appear, that when you are in the midst of storing clothes, you pull something off a hanger and say “Oh my goodness, I forgot I had this!”.
Whichever the case, there’s a way to remedy this - so that every piece of Summer clothing serves you well. Most often, the best thing to do to our wardrobe is NOT shopping and focusing on what we already have.
So… Before we get too close to the end of Summer, let’s redeem what we haven’t worn and… if it’s past redemption, let’s donate it, so that someone else can benefit.
So here’s a quick 15-minute Summer refresh (really, just 15 minutes is all it will take to give your Summer wardrobe an up-to-date, practical, stylish, capsule-like feel).
Have I worn this AT ALL this Summer?
Is this in good shape?
If this was for a special occasion, if another occasion arises, would I prefer to buy new and current for my style?
Do I hang onto this because it “used” to be something I wore all the time, despite my lifestyle or location having changed?
Does it suit how my body type/age have changed?
There you go! It's pretty simple and pretty quick! Don’t overthink it (or else it will never get done 😂).
Question: What would YOU add to this list?
