Relieve, Revive and Re - Fresh Your Wardrobe!
While I know we’re still in the depths of winter, before even Spring cleaning begins, now is a fantastic time give our wardrobe a good old fashioned cleanout. Doesn’t it feel great when you revive and re- fresh your closet?!
Honestly, how good does it feel when you relieve your closet stress of all those pieces that don’t fit, never get worn, or make you feel not as amazing as you actually are!?!
If you’re with me on this then you must continue reading AND… join me in my virtual talk with the ICW community on February 27! It will be a lot of fun - the first part of the talk will be going in depth on how to refresh your closet and also “rest” in confidence in how we are made and the season of life we are in. The second half will be questions - so do please come ready to engage!
Right now is really the perfect part of the year to re-evaluate our clothing. There aren’t summer vacations, kids are back in the lull of school, plus… the holiday rush is over and we’re all ready to get the most out of our wardrobe without spending a dime. Hence… the closet Re- Fresh must happen now!
So… how DO you do a Closet RE - fresh?
Well, I’ve mapped it out over the years but let’s freshen that up today!
It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is chop out an hour of your day, where you’re not bothered or

So… how DO you do a Closet RE - fresh?
Well, I’ve mapped it out over the years but let’s freshen that up today!
It’s pretty simple. All you have to do is chop out an hour of your day, where you’re not bothered or stressed.
For this particular Closet RE - fresh, nothing will go to donations immediately. Hold onto it for a month (or else if you know it’s leaving asap, it’ll never get out of your closet!!). Plus, it’ll be Lent shortly, so how perfect is it to give a little almsgiving. And if you’re too attached to it - what a bonus grace you’re giving it away!
Okay so let’s walk through it. Go through EACH item and ask yourself.
Have I worn this AT ALL in the past 2 months? Of course there are some items that are important like special occasion dresses, so ignore those, but you get the gist. Is there a typical everyday blouse you don’t grab? Some jeans that are a wash you don’t like or can’t stand the way they feel or fit? You know what to do
Is this in good shape? We all have those sweaters or tees that are pilling… or perhaps that skirt washed a bit too much and it has an uneven hemline - it’s gotta go!
If this was for a special occasion, if another occasion arises, would I prefer to buy new and current for my style? This is important because you have to ignore the price you paid for it (unless the quality is just superb!), and think… am I reallyyyyyyy going to wear this to the next funeral or wedding.
Do I hang onto this because it “used” to be something I wore all the time, despite my lifestyle or location having changed? For this, you REALLY have to think about what you wear on the day to day. Your lifestyle changes and your preferences change - so take that into an honest account.
Does it suit how my body type/age have changed? We all each change what we’d like to highlight as we go through different times of our life - and that’s an amazing thing! Excitement and positivity will breed the best results.
Et voila! To hear more about "resting" with confidence in how we are made and/or what season of life we are currently in, please consider joining the ICW community!
