Winter Footwear: The Loafer
In just a few days it will officially be Winter… can you believe that?!
With the Winter season comes of course more of a change in our footwear. Boots are an obvious, of course, but when we want something a little lighter, less aggressive - we opt for a flat.
Sometimes with slush and the cold wind, flats or heels just don’t sounds like the coziest (let alone safest) option.
But, the great news is that there IS another option. An option you can wear with pants, socks, and dresses/tights is… the loafer!
Choosing a darker colored loafer is perfect for the Winter. Black loafers are especially “in” right now. Also, if you want to have a little more fun and show a pop of your personality, you can try one with some texture or a print. Trust me, you’ve got a LOT of options!
But why is a loafer a wise choice for the Winter, besides it matching and looking great? Well, you’re going to have a thicker sole, unlike most flats. Whether you’re running after tiny children or doing lots of walking touring on your travels or just doing some Christmas shopping and errands - these will give you a great amount of support. Secondly, your foot is more covered for warmth - major! And thirdly, you can even wear them with a darker colored thin sock - even more major!
