A Pool Noodle And A Check Out Line: How to keep boots Tip Top Shape
A couple years ago, when my husband and I moved to Scottsdale, we of course, had to be prepped with all of the Arizona essentials.
While 108 degrees isn’t anything to write home about on a Summer day, it DOES mean that you find yourself in the pool a LOT. So, I strolled over to Hobby Lobby to snag a couple of pool noodles.
And it was revelatory moment what happened at the checkout line.
The cashier told me that pool noodles, when cut to the appropriate size, are PERFECT to keep your boots in good standing condition!
We’ve all seen the boots that have crinkles and flops and look like they could use a nightly face cream. And this is the answer.
I’ve just updated a couple boots that I’ve had for years (a good cobbler goes a long way!). I went for a flat heel, western inspired riding boot (and of course, at a great sale price, too!). In order to keep them tip top, I used that pool noodle.
It was pretty easy, simply measure how much of the noodle you need to get the shaft to stand upright. Grab a bread knife (carefully) and cut appropriately. I could actually use 1 noodle for two pairs of boots.
Et voila! Your boots look super great for years to come!
Now that we've discussed keeping boots in shape, let’s shop!
