2024 Fashion Trends: A return to a Classic

Let’s chat fashion trends 2024! Now I’ve said this five zillion times, so I apologize if it’s getting redundant BUT…

I love when something classic is trending because it means it’s a faaaaaaabulous time to refresh that piece in our closet.

And today… that means it’s all about - COATS!

It’s that time of year when we’re all bundling up, which makes getting dressed oh-so easy! Just plop on a fashionable coat and your look is D-O-N-E.

Now how easy is that?

Every year you can depend on different coat trends - it may be teddy coats, puffer coats, suede coats…. And this year, one coat trend is an absolute CLASSIC!

Yes, a gorgeous classic cut that will look chic for years and years. Now’s the time (especially right after Christmas) to snag a high quality coat on sale.

So how do you pick the perfect coat? Here’s a few questions to ask yourself.

  1. What  is length of the dresses you wear most often? Because you will want to be sure your new coat works with your current dress lengths.

  2. What kind of boots do you wear most often? Make sure that the color of your new coat compliments the color of your boots.

  3. Assess your sweaters style. Do you prefer more chunky knits or thin merino wools and cashmere? Be sure to allow space – especially in the arms and armpits – for how thick or thin your most often worn sweaters are.

  4. Do you like to have one primary winter coat or do you like lots of options to wear? If you prefer just one option, you’ll want to make sure it’s in a color and fit that works for a dressy occasion but won’t look odd with jeans and boots.

  5. Know which neckline looks best on you. For example, if V-necks look best on you (let’s say you’re an “apple” shape), you should go for more of a blazer neckline. Or, if a crewneck is more suitable (let’s say you’re a “pear”) then you should choose a stand collar jacket. When you know your body type, you will find it much easier to choose the best necklines to balance your shape.

Now let’s get shopping!!!
