Old Hollywood Series: Eyes On… Sunglasses!
We’re back this week with our Old Hollywood Inspiration series. And this week we'll focus on… sunglasses!
There’s a reason why we’re focusing on sunglasses. Because, you see… I got quite discouraged and befuddled a couple of weeks ago.
I had a fresh Nordstrom gift card to play with and was ready to invest in some black sunnies (I had a pair for years, and somehow they’ve gone missing - if you find them, a reward will be given!!).
Before going shopping, I decided to read a fashion article from WhoWhatWear, an article I’d typically enjoy and get some fresh inspiration immediately. However, this one sent me on a detour.
It was going over the sunglass trends and after I read it, I was left… deflated. (Fashion is my job so I eat, breathe, and feel it).
Well, let’s continue….
I was so deflated with the trends in sunglasses. I’m an oversized sunglass girl. The bigger, the better. I have an oval face with smaller features so I feel an oversized pair of sunglasses suits my face and is the perfect accessory to “amp up” a basic outfit.
Well, these trends - I could hardly bear them (for personal wear, myself). My face looks terrible in those thin frames from the 1990s and early 2000’s. And SPORT glasses?! Heck, no! I tell you, I had a moment…. Now that I’m in my 30s, I don’t want to be one of those adults that wears outdated frames and hangs on to outdated trends.
So, what to do? I looked to Old Hollywood, to the vintage fashions of chic, elegant, feminine women who, to this day, could step out of a hotel on the French Riviera and be chic as ever.
So if you’re like me and looking for some new sunnies, yet would like to deflect some of the current trends, here below are some eye-swooning inspirations.
And here are a few links to shop if you’re ready to buy! This post we have deals from Fendi, Gucci, Chlose and Ray Ban ALL AT LEAST 50% OFF!!!! (yes, you read that right!!).
