Finding the Y-O-U in the Perfect D-R-E-S-S

“Gosh, I have so enjoyed this and feel like you have helped me sooo much. I feel like you have helped me get my confidence back at a time I really needed it. I also feel like a gained a really cool, fashionable frien (87).png

Have you ever had a dress that just felt… so “You?” A dress that you could wear every day for just about every occasion? A dress that felt like your second skin? A dress you wished held up and fit forever???

You might have one coming to mind right now. Or (like many other women) you’re thinking “Well, gee, no...I’ve never had a dress like that.”

Let’s solve this for you today!

Sometimes it’s easy to see your closet as a big chaotic mess. Retail therapy (aka, shopping) only compounds the problem by putting temporary “band-aids” on your wardrobe, rather than really finding pieces that work for your lifestyle, personality, and figure.

When we put bandaids on our closet, we’re trying to minimize the damage, rather than really trying to solve the issues we have with what’s inside it, and filling it with pieces we could really enjoy

One way to pull off that band-aid and truly start to enjoy your closet is to identify your dream dress.

Imagine, for a moment, you are going on the most luxurious and perfect of vacations. It’s the ideal location, the trip is filled with the perfect amount of activities and relaxation, and (of course) you’ll be delighting in the most amazing food. The trip… is perrrrrrrrfect!

Now… what are you wearing??? What is your dream dress for such a perfect vacation?

If you haven’t a clue what it would be, here are a few questions to ask yourself that can go a long way toward helping you fashion your own perfect dream dress. Let’s eliminate the confusion and help you know exactly what to shop for!

  1. What length would you like the dress to be?

  2. Does it have full sleeves? Cap sleeves? Sleeveless?

  3. What color do you envision this dress?

  4. What fabric is this dress in? Is it something flowy and soft? Or more tailored and structured?

  5. Does this dress have a print?

  6. What shoes (or boots) would you wear with this dress?

  7. What types of jackets and cardigans could you pair with it?

  8. Are there style details you’d especially like in this dress? Maybe ruffles? Perhaps lace? Or maybe contrast piping?

  9. How do you want to feel in this dress? Feminine and flowy? Polished and professional? Subtle and understated? Preppy and classic? Vintage and old Hollywood?
