The Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God
Merry Christmas!! I pray you’ve had a very joyful and grace-filled Christmas season!
As you probably know, Saturday is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. It’s a big day AND... a Holy Day of Obligation.
The title “Mary, Mother of God” was the first dogma of Mary and established by the First Council of Ephesus in 431 A.D., we learn according to CNA.
Don’t you just love how rich our faith is?! We are liturgical praying today in the same way and in the same spirit as Catholics have been -- on this very day -- for over 1500 years... way cool!
You also probably know that, on Marian feast days, I like to give a nod to Mary with a special outfit. It’s like going to Mass and kneeling in front of the royalty of the universe! If we were to see the Queen of England, there’s no way we’d go in slouchy jeans and a T-shirt.
So, to share a little inspiration with you for this upcoming Solemnity, I’ve pulled together a few lovely dresses, some blue, some white, and a lot with a little sparkle!
Happy Shopping!!
Have a beautiful Solemnity!
