A Makeup (and Makeup Artist) for Catholic Women
For a LONG time I could never really get settled with my makeup. I didn’t know if it was my skin that was always changing (because of moving around to different climates) or if it was just that I had the wrong makeup.
You know you see some women and they just have that signature polished skin? What are they using?
Well, I just met one Catholic woman who had what I was looking for all these years.
Let me tell you how this Catholic make up artist CHANGED my life.
Nicole Caruso is a beautiful, Catholic mom I found on Instagram. She was a professional makeup artist and now lives in DC with her husband and adorable children. She does Instagram Lives, where she holds her little Louis on her hip and teaches her tips to get a flawless makeup Look.
Two tips I learned immediately from her:
When you add concealer, dab your cheeks, be sure not to rub (because that will make your face red- thus you apply more than needed).
Apply brow pencil going against the hair (it will look more natural and less blotchy).
And as I was watching her videos these few weeks, I happened to also be on a makeup detox. Meaning, I only used mascara and drank a ton of celery juice. I wanted to clean my skin of any yuck that the makeup had added to it. I wanted to get that healthy glow I had in France.
During this detox, Nicole reached out and asked if I’d like to try Beauty Counter. I had tried it a few years ago when the brand had just a few products. I’m not sure if it was the makeup or me… but we weren’t a match.
However, since Nicole was a makeup artist, I knew she was someone that really used quality make up and is someone I could trust.
And she is crazy about Beauty Counter now. So… I had to give it another try.
And… let’s just say ALL of my other makeup is going in the trash.
This makeup felt so good on my skin (even the mascara! It felt like it ‘hugged’ my lash line, I don’t even use eyeliner anymore). And the foundation felt more like a relaxing, night time moisturizer.
Throughout the day, my skin never got oily, and it didn’t look like the makeup was “lifting” off of my skin. The whole day I felt fresh, natural and polished.
Nicole recommended the Flawless in Five for me. So, really perfect for me as I don’t like to have a lot of extra stuff around. I want a simple makeup look that will make me feel polished for my day, yet not overdone.
As someone who was chronically switching makeup brands, I can NOW say I will be sticking with this Flawless in Five. I’m SO happy the hunt is over.
If you’re curious about this and wondering if it will work for you, you can send her a Direct Message on Instagram. She really knows her stuff and will be delighted to help!
