Versatility in Layering for AC and Daily Mass

Well, it’s officially Spring and the sun is shining brightly! Have you noticed how, in churches and public buildings, they’ve already turned the heat off and cranked the AC up (well, for those of us that live in warmer climates at least)?

If you’re anything like me, you’re just trying to find the easiest way to navigate these seasonal temperature fluctuations, and what I have learned is… having layers is crucial to staying comfortable as the weather gets warmer. This is that time of year (at least for me) where the mornings are brisk but, as soon as the afternoon sun strikes overhead, it’s time for a dip in the pool!

On video calls with Club Members, we talk about ways to layer easily without a lot of fuss.

Here in Arizona, it can get up to 115 degrees in the Summer (but actually feels lovely because the air is so dry). Last season, all I typically had to throw on was a sun dress and head to daily Mass in the morning.

Unless (as you can imagine), the AC was blasting ice cold air (you might recall this post about keeping near a neck scarf)

My solution? Whether it’s for keeping you comfortable in overly exuberant air conditioning, or just modestly covering your shoulders in your little sundress, keeping a nice cardigan in your car as a handy ‘just in case’ layer is essential during this time of year!

It’s easy to forget grabbing one if you’re running late out the door, so having a cardigan conveniently tucked permanently in your car is just plain advantageous for the coming months!

Not all churches are like Rue de Bac handing out modesty skirts (yes, this happened to me).
