Three Sensational August Colors to Transition You into Fall: Gold, Ochre and Rust

Happy August! August is an interesting month because while it may be blasting hot and still feel like Summer, we’re also heading into (and thinking about) September with all its going-back-to-school and Fall fun.

So… a popular question I get is - What does an August wardrobe look like and how do you start to transition into it?

Well, I’ve got three colors that can fly you through August and into September.

Any guesses? 

They’re earthy, natural tones with a little pop, plus… trendy and classic (yep, that can happen all at once)!

Still guessing? The three colors that work so well are:

Ochre

Gold

Rust

Are these not rich gorgeous colors?! They have Summer vibes while leading you into the Fall harvest. 

I have a few ways that I’ve discovered work especially  well:

1.Try it in a dress! You can wear it with a Summer mule or sandal, then in September pair with an ankle bootie and denim jacket

2.Go for a pullover sweater that you can sling over your shoulders. Then, when we get those chilly Fall nights, you can wear it with jeans or pants.

3.Why not a neck scarf?! This is the perfect way to add a splash of color and make an otherwise “outfit-repeater” feel new and fresh.

4.Pull all these gorgeous colors in with a skirt, paired on top with a white tee during the Summer and (of course) during Fall, layer with sweaters, tights and ankle boots.

5.A wide leg capri is a chic WIN! Try it with a mule and white button-down shirt during  Summer and with a cozy knit fabric and ankle boot during Fall (yes, you can indeed wear an ankle boot with a wide leg crop).
