Statement Sweaters That “Yule” Be Thankful For!
It’s November and everything is feeling cozy and festive. Thanksgiving is JUST around the corner and we all know that, once Thanksgiving comes around, life fills up with festivities and holidays, and all that good stuff!
It’s easy to feel super stressed at this time of year, because there’s lots of parties and events to attend, and that brings up the age-old question: “What do I weaaaaaar?!”
One way to make this season a little easier on your style game (and still stay fun), is by adding a statement sweater.
I love a statement sweater because you can have a very basic outfit, like simple pants, jeans, or a skirt, and then you add a splash of panaché with a sweater that’s fun yet cozy.
What IS a statement sweater, you might be wondering? I consider a statement sweater one with unique spunk, and some sort of detailing, embellishment or exaggerated detail. I’ve had a fur cuff sweater from Boden that REALLY gets me out of a style bind because I’ve worn it to the symphony (with a pencil skirt) but also love to wear it with just pants and ankle boots.
It works great for parties, for Mass (with a skirt), Thanksgiving dinner, a New Year’s Eve party - you get the idea!
My number one recommendation on styling with a statement sweater is to keep it simple. If the sweater is packing a punch, you don’t want to add too much to your Look. Less is more!
