May: The Month of Mary
It’s the month of May and what a beautiful one it is! You’ve probably been seeing the May crownings with the floral crowns dawning Our Lady in the churches.
During the 1200s, it became popular to dedicate this month to Mary - what a longstanding tradition! And then of course, we have the feast of Our Lady of Fatima, encouraging the 3 little Portuguese children in 1917 to pray the rosary.
We learned in The Secrets of the Rosary, by St. Louis de Montfort, we learn that Our Blessed Lady wants us to use the rosary:
“At this point Our Lady appeared to him, accompanied by three Angels, and she said:
‘Dear Dominic, do you know which weapon the Blessed Trinity wants us to use to reform the world?’
‘Oh, my Lady,’ answered Saint Dominic, ‘you know far better than I do because, next to your Son, Jesus Christ, you have always been the chief instrument of our salvation.’
Then Our Lady replied:
‘I want you to know that, in this kind of warfare, the battering ram has always been the angelic Psalter which is the foundation stone of the New Testament. Therefore if you want to reach these hardened souls and win them over to God, preach my Psalter.
”

Now, we talk a lot about fashion here at Meghan Ashley Styling (obviously), but it’s important to remember that we can wear specific clothing, accessories and Sacramentals as a means of grace!
SO.... in honor of the month of the Rosary, I thought we’d highlight some lovely sacramentals and rosaries, so that we are always prepped and ready to slip in an extra decade when we can, especially during the month of May!
