Fall Trend: Crews Control
As I’m sure you’ve been seeing (and feeling) over the past few days… Fall is JUST around the corner! Yes, sweater season is UPON US!
Each Fall🍂, we typically talk here about some upcoming trends. And as I say almost every time (let me know if you’re tired of hearing it in the comments! 😂), trends are a great way to freshen up your wardrobe by providing inspiration to tried-and-true wardrobe staples.
Secondly, when a seasonal trend embraces a “classic,” it’s THE perfect time to find excellent quality on sale - you’ll find a plethora to choose from!
So thank goodness that one of the best Fall trends this year is…
Classic Crewneck Sweaters!!!
Crewneck sweaters are THE perfect staple in your wardrobe. You can certainly make them part of your own personal aesthetic (as I very much have). A crewneck sweater in a quality natural fabric like wool, cashmere, or cotton will keep you “temperature controlled,” doing well in both cold AND warm (really, no lie!!) plus it’s the best fabric to reduce any type of (ahem) odor🤗. And… let’s not forget how polished and luxurious a crewneck sweater looks when styled correctly!
What really sets THIS year apart from prior Falls wearing sweaters, is that they are trending particularly classic and timeless. Unlike other years where they are oversized or have too much detailing, like pom-poms or other such embellishments.
While it may not look as exciting in the store or online, this one simple piece will amp up your look with a modern flair. And if it’s good enough for Kathleen Kelly, it’s good enough for me!
What you want to look for is a plain simple wool or a classic cable knit (think Ralph Lauren).
So how DO you style that crewneck sweater, beyond just popping it on with jeans, or as a cardigan to cover your shoulders for Mass?

Make a monochromatic look paired with a trouser pant.
Button up that crewneck cardigan to wear it as a top.
With a shirt underneath (of course), buttoned up halfway and with BOTH the sweater and top tucked in to create a pretty draping.
Dare I say, the perfect backdrop for a neck scarf or necklace with more substance (as these can be trending now)..
Paired with a Bermuda trouser short for those in the warmer climates who still want the look/feel of Fall without feeling overheated.
Dress it up with a nicer skirt, tucked in, for a special occasion.
Keep it as a go-to “toss over the shoulder” Look for those drastic weather changes.
