It’s Time To Step Into… Summer Pants
For the last few weeks here we’ve been discussing Summer dresses - dresses with a little “pop” (like florals) that are considered more “basic” but give you versatility for all of your Summer functions.
So let’s shift next into a category for those cooler evenings (or evenings where you want to stay safe from the mosquitos!), where a great solution is… Summer pants!
I am often asked what is a good alternative to leggings or jeans, when you don’t want to be “overly dressed,” but still want to look and feel stylish. So, I’d like to share with you three fabulous options.
Adding just one of these styles of pants will make your closet feel BIGGER without having to buy (spend!!) a lot. Having just the right amount of variation will magnify your outfit combinations and help assure that you’re not feeling like you are “wearing the same thing over and over.”
And as you can imagine, I’ve DEFINITELY packed a couple of these pants listed below. Not only do I find them more comfortable than jeans (woohoo!), but they also give me more versatility if I have to be a bit more polished and dressed up.
It doesn’t take much to achieve this and I really think you will find that it adds a fresh breeze to your Summer styling.
1.White pant
Does anything say more of a chic-summer than a fabulous white pant? I love that when you wear a white pant you immediately looked polished with little regard to how you style it. Whether it be a grey TShirt and sandal for running errands or with a black silk blouse and blush loafer for the evening - it will not disappoint!
2.Cropped Wide Leg
A cropped wide leg couldn’t be more perfect for the days you want to wear shorts but can’t. They give you more coverage, yet you still can feel a nice cool fresh breeze. They’re perfect with blouses or Tees but just be sure to do a front tuck so that you don’t lose your waistline.
3.Gingham
Gingham is such an American classic that’ll be perfect to whip out especially for Summer holidays. Just be sure to pair it with neutrals so that it doesn’t feel “too much”.
4.Linen Pant
Ahhhhh linen! It just shouts ‘Summer!’. Before you think that it’s always going to be wrinkly and you’ll live at the iron, most brands now combine it with other fabrics so that it wears a lot easier.
5.Seersucker Pant
Another American classic! I love the seersucker because I find it so flattering with the vertical stripes. Great to elongate the leg and looks lovely dressed up with a blouse or casual with a tank and cardigan.
