Falling into Fall Accessories: The Perfect Purse
As we’re nearing the end of August, dare I say that Fall IS around the corner! Who is ready?!
What is it about the end of this month and the beginning of September that just gives you “the feels” to buy a new purse? Maybe it goes back the days of getting ready to go back to school and/or wardrobe to get ready for chillier weather.
This is the time for me to make an important note about purses. If you feel your wardrobe doesn’t say “You,” then adding the right bag can be a great way to make your outfit better exemplify your style. Think about it: you have to add a bag to your Look EVERY day. So, that’s at least ONE thing about of your outfit that you can really focus on, that will help dictate the general direction of your Look.
If you’ve read my blog post on Sunglasses, (of course you did) then you know that you can basically take my same formula and apply it to bags, too. (Don’t you love it when it’s that easy?!).
Finding the perfect bag can be daunting. Because it’s an investment piece that you’ll want to keep for a very long time. Maybe even your whole life, if you really love to invest in nice bags! So, to make it a little easier to get started, I choose to divide bags into two categories:
1.Your “Go-to” Signature bag
2.Other fun and flavorful bags
Here are a few of my pointers on how to pick the perfect bag for each of these categories.
How to find your “Go-to” Signature bag:
-What is a neutral color that really attracts your eye?
-Do you generally want to add lighter or darker tones to your Look?
-Is your “style personality” more relaxed and casual? Is it polished and preppy? Is it no nonsense and classic? Is it romantic and floral?
-Is there a brand that you typically trust and enjoy its designs?
-What’s your budget and how long will you keep this bag? (I recommend Nordstrom Rack and Last Call Neiman Marcus for some fabulous deals.)
