Bermuda, bahama… come on pretty mama!

The warmer weather is ALMOST here (maybe it’s already shining where you are?). Blue sky and sunshine mean it’s time to shift the focus on your summer style! If you caught last week’s video, you will learn how changing your style will improve your mood and other aspects of your life (this includes your prayer life - as Jen Fulwiler admits!).

When I was in high school, Bermuda shorts were SUCH a big trend… they were fantastic!! I was through the roof that short-shorts weren’t the only option (clearly doesn’t take much to make me happy). I was SO excited to not look like a reject and shop from my favorite stores.

Sadly though… as the fashion world spins… so did those modest Bermuda shorts spin out of style.

(This reminds me of Saint Bruno, who said, stat Crux dum volvitur orbis. The Cross is steady while the world is turning. You have to love the Carthusians!)

Back to fashion.

As the trend of Bermuda shorts faded, those were a sad few years, and I was left with athleisure as my copout to wearing shorts.

How.Ever. Times have CERTAINLY changed.

Here are 5 tricks to embrace Bermuda’s

I recommend going for a more tailored pair. You don’t want to look like you squeezed into your 13 yr old son’s shorts. A good, feminine cut will work wonders for you!
Feminine colors and prints will add a lightheartedness to the Look.
Try softer, more luxe fabrics like silk. These will be more flattering and also bring a more feminine & chic aesthetic to your Look
Don’t forget about a blazer! Just because it’s summer doesn’t mean you can’t pair it with a chic jacket.
Amp it up for a dressier occasion with a silk blouse and wedges.
