Kick Up Your Style with This Western Trend: Ankle Boots

We’ve finally made it to that time of year again!! Yes! It is finally … ankle boot season!

Now is it just me or do ankle boots make life easier? To be able to wear a cozy sock and have your feet firmly planted to the ground? It’s. Bliss.

I know I can’t be alone in my opinion because it’s one of the top shopping requests I get from my Club Members.

Within the ankle boot realm, there are also trends that shine a little bit in the details. This fall, one of these trends is… Western!

Yes, the Western ankle boot is here!

For those of you that have always wanted a cowgirl boot, but maybe couldn’t commit all the way … now is the time to saddle up and snag an ankle boot with a little Western flair.

I love a Western look to my ankle boot because – especially if you’re wearing a “basic” outfit (like a simple dress and tights, or jeans and a blouse), it’s the kind of boot that adds that little extra ‘oomph’ to your Look. It doesn’t take much to take an outfit from zero to hero, so finding the perfect amount of flair to your ankle boot is key!

Now, there’s a few things to keep in mind when choosing your ankle boot:

  1. Which colors do you typically wear on top? If you wear a lot of black shirts, maybe go for a brown or gray boot so it doesn’t seem too matchy. If you wear a lot of caramel or beige shirts, perhaps go for a black boot for a bit of contrast.

  2. Consider if you will wear this boot with dresses. This will make a big difference on the ankle opening and how high up your leg the boot should go.

  3. What’s your ideal heel height? Are these going to be boots for everyday wear or will their job be more about jazzing an outfit up for the weekends? Be practical! Don’t feel obligated to get a heel higher than you would ordinarily be comfortable in. Heel height is important - think about how much time you’re going to spend in these boots.

Now onto the fun part… the shopping!!
