Jackets: Just Roll With It

With cooler weather upon us, we’re going to start expanding our wardrobe choices by adding layers! One such layer I’d like to talk about is - the jacket. Not in a broad sense, but in a very particular way: how to style it.

Now I share jacket recommendations with a lot of my clients. They purchase them, online from the link I send and then, a few days later, receive their new jacket(s) in the mail… woohoo!

I get texts about the jacket and how they like the jacket, but they’re not CRAZY about the jacket.

It’s important to be crazy about everything in your closet, especially upon purchase because… if you don’t like it then, you’ll have little hope of ever wearing it.

So then… I tell them to do one simple thing - roll up their sleeves.

ET VOILA!

It looks like the jacket was MADE for them! I can’t tell you how often this happens: I suggest to the client to just turn up the sleeves once or twice and it looks like a completely different jacket.

Especially if you are a petite woman (5”4 or under), this will REALLY work well for you.

Just the other day, I was walking through the airport in a Talbot’s blazer. Once I shoved the sleeves up, I immediately got two compliments. Really!

I dare you to try this little styling hack.  Especially if there are any jackets in your closet that you don’t LOVE, and see how you like them after playing around a little with the sleeve length.

Here below are a few fresh for the season and ready to serve as a little inspiration.
