Hemlines and The Last Inch: Stuck in a Skirt Rut?
Sometimes it can be easier to fall into the excuse that we don’t want to change our style because it’s going to take a lot of effort, a lot of time, and (probably) a little too much money. Now, while that can be true… it’s not the only way we can change up and freshen our personal style.
Sometimes it’s just being consistent in building the right habits and basic pieces. If we gradually work on aspects of our style, bit by bit, you’re going to find that all those little adjustments can add up to a BIG change over time.
You can compare it to losing weight. When it’s one incremental ounce at a time you can hardly tell the progress from one day to the next… But you also know that you’ll get the most effective long-lasting results, providing you stay diligent with your progress.
Okay, so what is one way we can build new and better style habits? Each week, we can work on one small aspect at a time.
This week, I want to talk about skirt lengths.
One of the easiest ways to freshen your silhouette is to take a couple weeks to play around with switching up your skirt styles! I recently tried a fresh skirt style I wasn’t used to (thanks to my mom’s closet!). Okay, I confess, for the past few years I’d let myself get locked into a “This is my most flattering cut of skirt” mindset and it really did constrict me from trying anything new!
Sometimes, when we’re laser-focused into what is going to be considered our “most flattering” choices, we miss a lot of fun things we can do with our style!
So... I tried this flared skirt that hit just below the knee… and you know what? It felt nice to try something different.
For your spring/summer shopping, try throwing a new skirt length into the mix. It might just have a bigger impact than you think! These are a few of my recommended options:
(All pun intended) don’t “skirt” this fashion chance! I would love to hear how this small “shift” might change your style!
