3 Surprising Tips I Tell Every Client

This week, I’m headed to NYC with the hubs. I’m especially excited because I’ll get to actually see a few of my clients (we usually work via FaceTime to review their closet… a little odd, I know… but it works and is really convenient!)

It’s SO fun seeing their closets/wardrobes change and listening to them tell me how they feel about their style transformation.

With all these great exchanges of ideas on my mind, I thought it’d be fun to share with you my top 3 ‘Surprising Tips’ that I tell them:

Tip #1 It is ALL about The Tuck.

Never underestimate the tuck. When you get dressed, see where your hemline falls. You want to create proportion and highlight your hourglass shape. Too many women make the mistake of thinking that by wearing a longer, flowing shirt that it will hide any bulge (which I can assure you, is much smaller than you think). However, it’s in creating angles and the proper proportions that you will flatter your body best. If you think your hips are too wide… you might be in a great position to make your waistline look super small. And the tuck will do just that for you!

Tip #2 High-end denim is your BEST friend.

If you can afford 3 jeans of basic quality… I would swap that for ONE high end jean. They will work wonders for you and you will feel better when you see yourself in them. Comfort, quality, and polish. It will make a basic Tee look amazing! Some clients have actually never really liked jeans on them… until they try the RIGHT pair and voila’ life is changed!

Siwy Jeans: This denim is INCREDIBLE, especially if you’re petite! I haven’t seen it look bad on ANYONE! It will work WONDERS for you!

Joe’s Jeans: A straight jean is a necessity for your closet. Joe’s has a fantastic fabric composition and they are SO flattering. Highly recommend!

Paige: This is another amaaaaazing brand that i highly recommend! Have you ever thought about doing a velvet pant? It’s a great way to mix up your bottoms- you get a stylish Look but the comfort and ease of jeans!

Tip #3 Permission to donate.

You know that one piece in your closet that you’re just waiting for “the right clothes” to wear it with? Well, I’m giving you permission to donate it right now! Many women feel guilty about giving away pieces that they have spent a lot of $$ on and haven’t worn or received as a gift and feel bad about not wearing. These are NOT acceptable reasons to hang on to something that is otherwise bringing you down (and taking up valuable closet space, right?). You want to open your closet in the morning and only see clothes that are absolutely PERfect for you! (Can you imagine that??! It’s the best!)

And there you have it! Some of my surprising tips that my clients always find useful to learn. I hope they will do the same for you, too!
