The Nordstrom anniversary sale is around the corner (July 20 with prices going up August 6th), so I wanted to share with you the 6 fall trends you should shop for during this incredible sale.

This way, you are armed for battle when the sale opens and you can snag the BEST fall pieces that are current and fashion-forward. PLUS, these trends have a chic and timeless aesthetic, so you can wear them years after.

When I join a trend, I ask myself if even if it was not “trending”, would I still enjoy the garment. Is it something that’s always chic and represents my style personality? If so, then all systems a go!

Often with trends, they’re actually timeless pieces that make a resurgence. This means you can easily find them in stores and have a lot of options. (woohoo!) I find it best to follow these trends that have a timeless essence to them, because you can STILL where the pieces when the trend fizzles out (as long as it’s chic, of course).

I’ve selected 6 trends that I think are the most worth-while trends for you to try in the fall of 2018.

I’ve chosen these because after the fall - when they’re not the fad anymore - you’ll still look chic and super stylish with these pieces.

Okay, here we go... let's dive in!

The 6 fall trends I find worth investing in are:

Trend #1 Plaid (I always loved my Catholic school uni)

Burberry Plaid A-line Skirt: Don't be shocked by the preppiness of this skirt or if it feels 'too old or mundane" by adding a simple black bootie and you immediatelly make it current & modern.

Trend #2 Animal print (va va VOOM!)

Marc Fisher Flat: A leopard flat is a DEFINITE essential. It's an easy piece to have to jazz up your Look and add a pop of print and texture. A simple jean and white button down totally changes it's style when you slip on this flat.

Trend #3 Capes (fly fly flyyyyy!)

Kimi & Kai: Capes are a winter life-saver! Not only are they flattering for the hip and legline, but they're practical, feminine, and fun! I mean, look how jeans and boots totally transformed!
